Provence and cuisine

Have you ever dreamed of a French chef walking into your kitchen to trust you with cooking secrets ?  You've knocked on the right door. Treat yourself to a week's French cuisine. A chef will kindly answer any questions or hear suggestions about specific dishes. Provençal specialities, regional and seasonal dishes, fish and even Provençal sushi !!

Day 1 : You'll be shown to your bedroom on arriving, and then invited to join us downstairs for a few sips of local apéritif drinks while discussing the week's programme and trying a few shots at the pétanque bowl game. Dinner will then be served.

Day 2 : Breakfast. In Avignon, your chef will be waiting for you at the Halles indoor market. You'll find the regional fresh produce to cook your own lunch as the chef guides you around ! Enjoy the friendly atmosphere of this off-the-beaten-track local market.  After relishing your first meal, spend your afternoon as you wish, either visiting the impressive Unesco-labeled Palace of the Popes and Avignon bridge or just strolling around town. Back to the mas in the late afternoon.

Day 3 : After breakfast we'll be visiting an olive oil mill in the Baux de Provence valley, where you'll get a taste of the delicious local olive oil.  We'll then move on to the village at the heart of the Alpilles for lunch and a bout of sightseeing. Back to the mas for your first cooking lesson. After cooking your meal under the guidance of another chef, you'll be able to share it all together !

Day 4 : After breakfast, the chef will keep you company as you take a walk around the famous Saint-Rémy de Provence market and pick the ingredients for the next meal you'll be concocting together ! Cooking lesson and lunch at the mas. Enjoy the afternoon as you wish, for example visiting the colourful village of Saint-Rémy de Provence, the Roman ruins of Glanum or the Van Gogh museum.

Day 5 :  Today after breakfast we'll be headed to the famous winegrowing village of Châteauneuf-du-Pape to visit a wine esate (domaine). On top of tasting the local white and red wines, you'll be cooking and eating your own meal with the advice of yet another chef. We'll then drive back to the mas.

Day 6 : Breakfast. Relax until mid-afternoon when we meet for your last cooking lesson. Dinner will be cooked at the mas in accordance with your wishes and with the help of a chef. Enjoy.

Day 7 :  Time to start on the trip home after breakfast.
