Discover and taste the best vintages on the Côtes du Rhône Villages wine road.
Day 1 : You'll be shown to your bedroom on arriving, and then invited to join us downstairs for a few sips of local apéritif drinks while discussing the week's programme and trying a few shots at pétanque (the local bowl game). Dinner will then be served.
Day 2 : After breakfast, you'll be going on an excursion to the villafges of Gigondas and Vaqueyras, famours for their spicy, full-bodied red wines. A little hike in the Dentelles de Montmirail mountain range is then on schedule. In the afternoon, enjoy the wine-tasting session with simultaneous commentary. Back to the mas for dinner.
Day 3 : After breakfast, you'll be visiting the Pont du Gard, the world's best preserved Roman aqueduct. You'll then be headed to Tavel, a village that boasts the best rosé wine in France, a fruity nectar that Louis XIV himself was fond of ! Try it for yourself. Then back to the mas for dinner.
Day 4 : After breakfast, join the ride to Suze-la Rousse, where a half-day seminar is awaiting you at the Wine University, in a beautiful 12th century castle. We'll then be driving back to the mas for dinner.
Day 5 : After breakfast, we're off to Saint-Rémy de Provence, at the foot of the Alpilles mountain. Enjoy your walk around this colourful little town and as you discover Nostradamus' house and hear the story of Vincent Van Gogh there. I the afternoon, you'll be tasting wines on a biological estate nearby. We'll then be heading back to the mas for dinner.
Day 6 : After breakfast, your next destination is the walled city of Avignon, with its impressive medieval history, city walls, Saint-Bénézet bridge and Palace of the Popes, both Unesco-labeled and in a remarkable condition. Châteauneuf-du-pape is our next stop to taste the region's (and one of the world's) most prestigious wines. We'll then drive back to the mas in anticipation of the evening's gastronomical tasting experience in a Saint-Rémy de Provence restaurant.
Day 7 : After breakfast, back to Weinheim.
